CSR

Social responibility is an essential part of life at Saint Ignatius Jesuit College. Our students participate in various social projects, out of which the most important one is the Root Camp. Apart from this, we also arranged a project to help refugees in Fót in 2015 and 2016, and previously, we had organized a mentor program for residents of the Jesuit College for Roma Students.

The Root Camp

In the framework of the Root Camp, we organize a summer camp every year/annually for socially disadvantaged children, who come from Subcarpathia to Hungary for one week. The aim of this program is to give a life-long memory to these children, strengthen their Hungarian identity, give them experiences from the cultural values of the parents’ mother-country and help them build relationships with other Hungarians from different regions in Subcarpathia. Children come from Transylvania, Délvidék and Subcarpathia. Happiness and love characterizes the camp. Our motto is „Do good things, because you can.” The project institutionally and spiritually belongs to the Jesuit order. We are proud to tell you that the camp has been organized eleven times in the past, and our movement won the Junior Primissima Prize in 2010.
